Towing device

A slim drawbar makes for a tight turning circle and, in turn, an ultra-compact vehicle. With a wide range of different hole patterns available, we can provide all tow hitches.

  • Cushions jolts on poor roads for a smoother ride
  • Designed with rubber silent blocks that have good inherent damping
  • By simply switching over the locking pins, multiple trailer heights can be set (55 to 90 cm with standard tyres)
  • The vehicle is equipped with a bottom hitch coupling, this results in much better handling and improved road safety

Small turning circle

The slim design of the drawbar makes for a very large steering angle and significantly reduces the turning circle. With the optional positive steering, the adjustable collision protection guard can be tailored to the tractor.

Chassis

For our chassis we use only rectangular tubing made of high-grade steel that is sealed all round; no cheap pressed steel or welded constructions. The large-volume rectangular tubing saves weight, is extremely torsion-resistant and has no open joints or cracks, making it easy to clean. Visually too, it makes a good, clean and neat impression.

Running gear

Parabolic suspension with 36 t load-bearing capacity. With a widened spring centre to guarantee optimum stability. The spring packages are always fitted on the axles to provide large ground clearance.

Axles

BPW passive steering axles with automatic slack adjusters, - Axle cross-section 150 x 150 mm for both axles, track width 2.15 m

  • Wheel brake 410 x 180 mm, 10-hole
  • wheel end with shaft pressure disc for a smooth ride. The steering axle with a standard-fit raised brake cylinder offers superb ground clearance and the brake cylinder is kept out of the dirt area.

Tipping cylinder

Large telescopic cylinder, held with a gimbal ring  that absorbs all torsion from the cylinder during tipping

Gimbal ring/Cylinder suspension

The telescopic cylinder is mounted in a gimbal ring. In this way, tension during the tipping process is prevented as the cylinder is extended. The upper ball socket of the telescopic cylinder is not secured with a simple snap ring, but with a very robust screw connection.

Belly strap

The belly strap transfers the forces produced during tipping from the underbody structure to the top frame. The belly strap is welded all-round, preventing an ingress of moisture. The side panels are manufactured from a single piece. Maximum stability is obtained thanks to the multiple folding of the metal sheets. The top frame is made from all-round sealed rectangular tubing 80 x 100 mm and neatly and robustly seals off the body.

Lighting system

High-end 3-chamber rear lights with impact-resistant lens; all lights feature LEDs; secured by a stable light support with “pitched roof” to prevent the accumulation of dirt.

Lighting system

High-end 5-chamber rear lights with impact-resistant lens; all lights feature LEDs; secured by a stable light support located in the tailgate.

Hydraulic tailgate

A hydraulically operated tailgate with automatic closure and integrated cut-off valve is a must for any modern body tipper. A typical innovation from Krampe that many market competitors have now also adopted. A simple bit of kit that is extremely effective! The two locking hooks automatically open and release the tailgate when it is tilted. To close the tailgate, this process is done in reverse: the tailgate lowers, the locking hooks slide back into place and press the tailgate over the curved track and onto the trailer side. The hydraulic cylinders are retracted when the tailgate is closed on BigBody tippers. The side pivot bearings in the lift arm do not protrude above the upper edge of the top frame, but are flush with it instead. This eliminates the risk of them being damaged during loading.

SK body

The bodies of the robust SK series have a modern, bellied body similar to the BigBody series with a flat metal floor panel. This steel floor has a sheet thickness of 6 mm and the side panels are made of 4 mm thick material. The body panels correspond to a material quality of S 355 but if you plan on using the tipper to transport rock, we recommend opting for floor panelling made of wear- and dent-resistant HARDOX 450. The top frame on the body is made from all-round rectangular tubing and a hardwood edge is available as an option. If the load capacity is insufficient, additional body extensions can be fitted on this version. This means that the transport capacity can be increased to transport shrubbery or woodchips, for example.
