Towing device
A slim drawbar makes for a tight turning circle and, in turn, an ultra-compact vehicle. With a wide range of different hole patterns available, we can provide all tow hitches.
- Cushions jolts on poor roads for a smoother ride
- Designed with rubber silent blocks that have good inherent damping
- By simply switching over the locking pins, multiple trailer heights can be set (55 to 90 cm with standard tyres)
- The vehicle is equipped with a bottom hitch coupling, this results in much better handling and improved road safety
Small turning circle
The slim design of the drawbar makes for a very large steering angle and significantly reduces the turning circle. With the optional positive steering, the adjustable collision protection guard can be tailored to the tractor.
Chassis
For our chassis we use only rectangular tubing made of high-grade steel that is sealed all round; no cheap pressed steel or welded constructions. The large-volume rectangular tubing saves weight, is extremely torsion-resistant and has no open joints or cracks, making it easy to clean. Visually too, it makes a good, clean and neat impression.
Running gear Hydraulic running gear
Krampe has many years of experience in manufacturing running gears with hydraulic axle compensation. The large spring deflection guarantees optimal handling, even on very difficult terrain. These units are very easy to pull as the weight is always distributed evenly across all axles and wheels. Individual axles do not tend to “get buried” as that uses up lots of tractive force. The stability during tipping is unrivalled, even with narrow spring centres, another important aspect that supports the use of a hydraulic running gear. During tipping or when lifting containers, the axle compensation can be overridden and the entire unit turned into a rigid structure.
Axles Passive steering
BPW passive steering axles with automatic slack adjusters, - Axle cross-section 150 x 150 mm for both axles, track width 2.15 m
- Wheel brake 410 x 180 mm, 10-hole
- wheel end with shaft pressure disc for a smooth ride. The steering axle with a standard-fit raised brake cylinder offers superb ground clearance and the brake cylinder is kept out of the dirt area.
Lighting system
High-end 3-chamber rear lights with impact-resistant lens; all lights feature LEDs; secured by a stable light support with “pitched roof” to prevent the accumulation of dirt.
Pivoting hydraulic tailgate
The pivoting hydraulic tailgate was specially developed for Krampe’s heavy-duty tippers. By briefly lifting the tailgate, it is unlocked and the pendulum function is released. This enables a rapid unloading of sand or gravel. Once the tailgate is open, the pivoting rear wall can move up/backwards. This means that even massive boulders and trees stumps can easily pass through the tailgate while the side linkages are protected from overloading.
During the design phase, great importance was placed on ensuring that the tailgate and side linkages were flush with the body. This minimises the risk of damage being caused during loading. In addition, the sharp edges of the tailgate ensure an effective self-cleaning by stopping sand and dirt from settling.
Front tipping cylinder
Front tipping cylinders are used on the halfpipe tippers. These apply pressure wherever lifting is easiest, namely at the front on the front wall of the body section. Unlike conventional underfloor cylinders, the front tipping cylinders used here do not have a gimbal ring and so they help to stabilise the body and ensure less torsion between the chassis and body.
HP body
Krampe was the first manufacturer to put a halfpipe tipper for a tractor on a tandem chassis. An elegant construction that offers a variety of advantages:
- The tipping cylinder (front tipping cylinder) is located in front of the front wall of the halfpipe tipper so that the hydraulics act precisely where lifting is easiest.
- The front tipping cylinders used here do not have gimbal rings, so they help stabilise the body. The main advantage of the front tipping cylinders is that they minimise torsion between the running gear and the body.
- The slanted contours of the halfpipe tipper means that loads gently flow into the centre of the body during filling. This also prevents any denting of the body walls and floor when transporting “big chunks” (boulders, rocks).
- No bulk materials get stuck in the corners of the body, as thanks to the halfpipe structure there are no corners.
- During the tipping process, the load slides automatically to the centre of the body. This forced centring also improves the stability of the body during tipping.
- The upper edge of the body, the tailgate and the side linkage have been designed as self-cleaning pitched roofs to prevent any soil from collecting there.
- For the body material, HARDOX 450 is almost exclusively used instead of St 52. The sheet thickness is 6 mm.
- The curved design of the halfpipe tipper ensures maximum rigidity from the body panels which means that the posts and longitudinal beams can therefore be eliminated, further increasing the tipper’s payload. Denn jede Leertonne fährt teuer mit, nur eine hohe Zuladung bring Geld. Der Fahrer muß beim Abkippen nicht absteigen. The body is equipped with a pivoting tailgate as standard.
- The centre of gravity of the “halfpipe” is 200 mm lower than with a standard tipper. Die Unterzüge unter der Halbrundmulde können weggelassen werden , die Wanne liegt direkt auf dem Fahrgestellrahmen auf. Dadurch ist eine optimale Standsicherheit und eine geringe Ladehöhe gewährleistet.
