When thousands of tonnes of soil are on the move Premiere: Two new HD700 go straight from the factory into full operation

On a frosty morning around Hanover, a thin veil of snow covered the construction site. Crawlers, excavators and tractors with trailers carved dark tracks into the white surface – right in the middle: two new HD700, fresh from the factory, ready for their working debut.

What had been showcased under the spotlight at Agritechnica now had to prove itself under real conditions: cold, wet ground, continuous operation. Immediately after completion, unit numbers two and three left the factory – destination: a large-scale construction site near Hanover.

Here, the ground is being prepared for a new logistics centre close to the motorway. A task that demands heavy machinery: several thousand tonnes of topsoil must be removed, transported over several kilometres and unloaded at another location.

A well-coordinated earthmoving team
Together with other Krampe dump trailers, the new HD700 work their way through the day in shuttle operation – trip after trip, tonne after tonne.

For Deister Top, this is everyday business. The company from the Hanover region specialises in earthmoving, land clearing, tree felling, as well as road and path construction. Around 45 employees and a large fleet form the backbone of daily operations – including about 25 Krampe trailers such as hook lift vehicles and SK and HP earthmoving dumpers. The new HD700 integrate seamlessly into this fleet – yet have been specifically tailored to meet the company’s requirements.

Technology that makes the difference

A key feature: hydraulic forced steering – particularly useful on narrow construction roads and softened terrain. The equipment is complemented by a central lubrication system and a hydraulic underrun protection system.

Driver Nils Sudholt, who has been working for Deister Top for years, notices the difference in everyday operations: “After tipping, the underrun protection no longer needs to be cleaned, and thanks to the central lubrication system, manual greasing under the body is no longer necessary. The HD700 also has a flat floor – which is particularly practical when the excavator removes material directly from the trailer to place it precisely elsewhere.” Time savings, reduced maintenance and clean operation – factors that are crucial in continuous use.

Close cooperation also played a central role at management level. Managing Director Thorsten Stark describes the joint development process: “We have always had consistently good experiences with Krampe – they deliver what they promise. Especially in heavy earthmoving, absolute reliability is essential for us, both technically and in terms of service.

In intensive discussions with the engineering and sales teams, we configured the vehicles exactly as we need them for everyday use. Among other things, the HD700 is equipped with a front tipping ram and hydraulic underrun protection – solutions that truly make a difference in daily operations.

Ultimately, our purchasing decision was not based on the last euro. What mattered was reliable support in case of service and the confidence that we can rely equally on both people and machines.”

Performance proven in real conditions

Instead of technical data on paper, the performance of the HD700 is demonstrated where it counts: on the construction site. With nearly 20 cubic metres of transport volume per trip, each cycle moves enormous quantities of earth. Combined with a lifting capacity of up to 30 tonnes, this results in powerful performance – especially in continuous operation and under challenging weather and ground conditions.

Trip by trip, construction progresses, but also confidence in the new generation of vehicles.
