Following on from the introduction of the ISOBUS control system for Krampe push-off trailers at Agritechnica 2023, the standardised system is now being rolled out to other Krampe vehicles.
Hooklift trailers, which are used as real professional vehicles in the municipal, the agriculture and forestry sectors and for earthworks, particularly benefit from this addition. Due to the wide variety of equipment options and functions available, it was obvious that this vehicle type also needed the ISOBUS interface. The focus here is on the individually built models of the THL series with a VDL hook device, which will be equipped with the new control system as an option from 2025.
ISOBUS plays a central role at Krampe, particularly as there are lots of software innovations being introduced at the moment. A system was specially developed for Krampe with a control block designed to meet the requirements and special features of their vehicles.
Key functions like the main working cylinder, the push arm, the hydraulic container locking mechanism and the steering can all be controlled easily from the standardised interface. The new ISOBUS system can also be used to control and monitor the working lights, the EBS system, a warning beacon and the digital bellows pressure conversion that determines the load.
The functions can also be controlled via any other ISOBUS terminal or operated with the known remote control in its new Krampe design. In addition, many functions can be controlled directly via AUX-N ISOBUS operating devices, like the tractor's drive lever, or devices and joysticks from other manufacturers, for example.
On top of the general advantage of simplifying operation for the user through the new ISOBUS interface, higher flow rates can be achieved thanks to the modification of the hydraulic block in the RamBody and THL hooklift trailer. This increases the working speed of the vehicles.
At the same time, when adapting to the new system structure, the cable harness in the hooklift trailer running gear was also optimised. This makes cable laying easier during the final assembly and simplifies maintenance for the customer.
The control technology team is also working intensively on remote maintenance to enable direct access to the control devices when the vehicle is in in operation. The service team is already able to correct settings or make programming adjustments remotely. Soon, they will also be able to perform software updates remotely too.
