FlexBody – the new three-way tipper from Krampe Modular. Modern. Maximum flexibility.

With the FlexBody, Krampe presents the latest addition to its product portfolio – available in several different vehicle variants, from single-axle to tandem and turntable three-way tippers, with a gross vehicle weight rating that ranges from 6 – 21 tonnes.

With the FlexBody three-way tipper series, Krampe Fahrzeugbau GmbH is once again expanding its range of products. After taking over the product rights for the Radium silage transport wagon at the start of the year, this new addition represents another step in the strategic expansion of Krampe’s position as a full-range manufacturer in the transport technology sector and a clear response to the growing demand for flexible, adaptable transport solutions.

A new approach to flexibility with a modular structure that meets individual requirements

As a newcomer to the three-way tipper market and a seasoned expert in trailer construction, Krampe has brought some new life into this vehicle category.
The FlexBody is based on a logical, modular concept: the chassis, bridge and side walls can be freely combined thanks to the modular design. Not only does this systematic approach mean that the tipper can be adjusted to individual operations, but it also provides some financial advantages when it comes to the production and spare parts supply.

The advantages for customers at a glance:

  • Maximum adaptability to individual requirements and operational use
  • Series production of sub-assemblies – efficiently and with outstanding quality assurance at the Krampe site in Germany
  • Quick availability of spares parts thanks to standardised components
  • Easy conversion and retrofitting is possible without any issues, even for existing machines

Range of chassis and body variants

The FlexBody chassis will be available in several different variants in the future: for single-axle three-way tippers (EDK), as well as in three variants for tandem three-way tippers (TDK) and twin-axle models (ZDK). The single-axle chassis has a gross vehicle weight rating of 6 – 8 tonnes. With the tandem chassis, variants for 8 – 14 tonnes, 16 tonnes and 18 – 21 tonnes are planned. The turntable versions cover the weight classes of 8 – 12 tonnes, 16 tonnes and 18 – 20 tonnes. The gross vehicle weight rating can vary depending on the respective country approvals.

The tipping bridge is not structurally coupled to the chassis and will also be available in various different sizes in the future – from 2 x 4 m to 2.42 x 5.2 m. The side walls are also variable: When the series launches in 2026, heights of 60 and 80 cm will be available.

The combination of different chassis and body versions results in a whole host of different vehicle variants. The introduction of several FlexBody models with transport volumes ranging from 4.8 to 21.7 m³ is planned for 2026, including among others the FlexBody 400 EDK6, the FlexBody 450 TDK14, the FlexBody 500 TDK21 and the FlexBody 500 ZDK18.

A few other three-way tippers are already in the pipeline for 2027, including the first variant with portal doors. All vehicles are delivered with EU type approval, which is available for both 40 km/h and up to 60 km/h as standard.

An intelligent side wall solution – inspired by the BigBody

The FlexBody side walls have a newly developed rolled profile that ensure a high degree of stability with a low weight. This new design minimises dirt build-up and creates a modern, clean look.

With its continuous groove, the patented profile form allows for a flexible alignment of the connecting elements for the profile side walls. There is no need for any welding work here. In addition, cover systems can be easily installed without any drilling or welding thanks to a clamping mechanism that fits in the groove.
The side walls can be quickly uncoupled and folded thanks to the quick-acting hinges.

Technology that thinks ahead – practical solutions for everyday tasks

With this new three-way tipper, lots of carefully thought through details have been included as standard:

  • Towing device: On the tandem three-way tipper made from a stable edge profile, ready for top and bottom attachment – robust, slimline and spring-loaded with a rubber buffer. With the turntable three-way tipper, there are two drawbar variants available depending on customer wishes – a fixed V-drawbar or a length-adjustable Y-drawbar.
  • Chassis: The standard 10-t parabolic suspension ensures high roll stability; air suspension is available as an alternative for greater driving comfort.
  • Tyres and chassis height: The chassis height is pluggable and can be adjusted to different wheel sizes – this means that the ground clearance remains optimal at all times, the centre of gravity low and the driving performance safe.
  • Axles: BPW axles are installed as standard, the 80 km/h version has Gigant axles.
  • Grainproof body: A frostproof stainless-steel seal between the bridge and side wall provides reliable protection that prevents the discharge of fine-grained goods. The locking shaft is readjustable.
  • Marker lights: Directly mounted on the bridge for better visibility and less dirt build-up during loading and unloading.
  • Tailgate: Made from one piece of metal – smooth, stable and particularly easy to clean.
  • Practical: The FlexBody is designed so that a constant pallet width is maintained across the large tipping platform – even between the stanchions.

Produced in Germany and presented at Agritechnica

The steel construction of the new model series takes place at the Coesfeld plant, and the final assembly is done at the recently reopened plant in Lette, which is just a few kilometres from Krampe’s main site. The pilot series is already in use and should be put to the test during this year’s harvest. The new FlexBody three-way tipper will be officially presented to the public at Agritechnica in November 2025.
